Multitel announces a minority interest investment and joint venture in D.P.SYS inc., an Electronic Design Services (EDS) firm and RF Technology provider. The combination of MULTITEL and D.P.SYS technologies creates a unique and innovative way to send data from sensors to networks. The CPU III card brings increased capacity and flexibility to monitoring and control applications by offering embedded TCP/IP protocol for better performance, flexible I/O card positioning for increased polling rates and decreased power and heat consumption. Multitel was established in 1980 by Léon Méthot, a former installation manager in the Northern Telecom Energy division (now Nortel Networks).
