Quebec City, January 10, 2005 - Multitel Celebrates 25 Years of Business
Multitel, a leading provider of remote monitoring systems for the Telecommunication, Power Utility and Water and Wastewater industries, is proud to announce its 25th anniversary in business. Multitel was established in 1980 by Léon Méthot, a former installation manager in the Northern Telecom Energy division (now Nortel Networks). Mr. Méthot saw a new business opportunity in the multiplication of power supplies due to the telecom boom in the 1980s. To continue to lower costs, operators needed to identify the causes of power supply problems without costly site visits. This led to the development of remote energy equipment monitors and controllers for telecommunication centers. Benoit and Stephan Méthot have continued in their father’s footsteps by constantly reinventing Multitel’s offering to stay in line with industry demands and applications to deliver better solutions to customers. Even with old and new competitors entering the remote monitoring market, Multitel has stayed ahead of the curve in terms of the value proposition it offers with integrated hardware and software solutions to meet the most demanding application
requirements.
